BookTubeAThon 2014

This is a little late but I wanted to add before midnight, which is when the BookTubeAThon officially starts. So, if you do not watch any BookTube channels you might not be aware of what BookTubeAThon is. It is basically a read-a-long that a YouTuber name Ariel Bissett started last year ( Her YouTube channel will be linked at the bottom, so check her out!). It starts July 14th and ends July 20th, It consists of 7 Challenges and also video challenges, which I will not be doing but the reading challenges I will.

First challenge is to read a book with pictures in it, graphic novels are acceptable. So I chose Saga Vol.1 by Brian K. Vaughan Illustrations by Fiona Staples. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15704307-saga-volume-1?ac=1

Second challenge is pick a book with the color red on it, I chose Prom Nights from Hell by Meg Cabot, Kim Harrison, Michelle Jaffe, Stephanie Meyer, and Lauren Myracle. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/557332.Prom_Nights_from_Hell?ac=1

Third challenge is have someone pick a book for you, my friend chose Prom Nights from Hell by Meg Cabot, Kim Harrison, Michelle Jaffe, Stephanie Meyer, and Lauren Myracle ( You are allowed to double up on challenges, but that's it).

Fourth challenge is read a series from start to finish, I went with Walk of  the Spirits and sequel Shadow Mirror by Richie Tankersley Cusick. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1295093.Walk_of_the_Spirits

As you can see I have a lot of reading to do, but I am confident I can do.....well maybe. I will be updating every time I finish something.

Books I Am Currently Reading!

I am a pretty fast reader so I always have at least 3 to 4 books I am reading at a time. This Week there is 4 that I am hoping to complete.

First book I am reading is We Were Liars By E.Lockhart. There honestly isn't a lot I can say about this book because we are suppose to go in it not knowing anything, which is what caught my attention. This book is all over BookTube and Goodreads, and is getting all sorts of reviews. Some are saying they love this book, while others are scratching their heads and wondering why. I am about 15% in( I have this on my kindle) and I am totally confused, in a good way. Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16143347-we-were-liars?ac=1

The next book I have started is Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira. This one I was so excited to get from my library (yes, I get library books a lot!). Basically this book is about a girl who is starting 9th grade and her first English assignment is to write a letter to a dead person. She picks Kurt Cobain because he died young just like her older sister. The book is her writing letters to famous dead people who has died young. This book is written all in letters, which I found to be great. I am about 10 pages in and I like it a lot. The reviews on Goodreads have been good and the reviews on BookTube have all been raving about it! Goodreads: ads.com18e-letters-to-the-dead?ac=1

The 3rd book i am reading is The Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blackman. This book is a YA Historical Fiction but does have true facts in it, it takes place in Nazi Germany right before WWII. The main character is Adolf Hitlers Niece, and she is starting to question everything, which you aren't suppose to do. It says she falls in love with a Jewish journalist and it's basically set around that. I love historical novels and this one has me on the edge of my seat already and I am only 30 pages in. I heard about this book on BookTube, and Goodreads reviews are again, pretty good. Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17668473-prisoner-of-night-and-fog?ac=1

The 4th and last one I am reading is Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. This one isn't a new release like the other three but has become more popular in the past year. This is set in a Dystopian future, the story is about a girl name Juliette. Juliette has gift, her touch is lethal. She gets locked up by the Reestablishment and hasn't touch anyone in 264 days. The government is now thinking of using Juliette as a weapon but she has other plans for herself. I am not that far in, so I only know what I read in the synopsis and what many BookTubers have said. This book is being praised everywhere and was recommended by so many people. Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10429045-shatter-me?ac=1

Who I am?!

Hello, let me first start off by introducing myself. My name is Emily, I'm 25 and love anything that has to do with books. I love reading them, touching them, organizing them, i even love smelling them :). Books are honestly a big part of my life, they have helped me get through tough times and take me to different places. My favorite type of books are YA (Young Adult), I love paranormal, fantasy, almost anything YA. This isn't my first blog, but i am hoping i do better with this one then my other one. I have learned a lot since my last blog and that is, read what you want to read, and review what you want to review. I let other people tell me what to read and review and it became less enjoyable and very over whelming, and books are what i do to calm down and enjoy myself. So here i am again trying to do something i love, i am hoping i do well at this because i want to start my on Booktube channel.
